TWO WORLDS

So many small worlds within one world
everybody lives in their own world.

Broken family, treacherous friends
that's the world she lived in.
Faking smiles, finding hope
trying to love with all she got.

People whispering, "why is she so cold?"
little do they know,
her world enervating her poor soul.

She tries to find someone,
who will stick by her side
till the end
a lover or a friend.

Then she met a girl,
so forthcoming and guileless.
Her world is what she desires,
her friendship is what she seeks.

A friend, a soulmate
is what she is to her,
she gave her
a heart to rely on,
a shoulder to cry on.

Making her bleak world
a better place to live,
She found comfort
in her mellow world.

DARKNESS OF YOU

NOTE: This poem is dedicated to my beloved late grandfather. We shared a really special bond with him and his death has left us in peril. He was my personal counselor and understood me in ways that nobody can.
The Rare One Your scintillating personality would always brighten up the room. That beatific smile, could easily bewitch anyone. The love that you gave will always be incomparable. You taught us the value of relationships, and to find joy in little things. You have always been an inspiration for those around you. Your gregarious nature, your winsome personality your benign heart and your thirst for knowledge, made you the most venerated person I have ever known.

Nothing Lasts Forever

Nothing   lasts   forever, but  is  that really true? The  ache   I   feel  in my  heart  when  I   think  of  you, seems  to  stay  the same. Mourning lost opportunities, shedding tears of  shame , seems to  be  my new routine. Did I prevent you from becoming the best? Did   I  hold  you  down? I   watched   you  wither as  you   tried   to  break   free but  you  never gave  up. Your  courage   gave  me  hope, made  me  believe  that not all was lost. Nothing lasts  forever, I  guess  that is true, because now I  see  you smiling in the  mirror, a smile so new and  I hope to hold on to it forever. ~Riya
